ZELUS - Born From Relentless Drive

ZELUS is named after the Greek God of ambition, determination, and competition – the very spirit from which the English word zeal originates.

These values are at the core of everything we do. ZELUS wasn’t born in a boardroom or from market trends. It was born in the middle of a real-life problem – my own.

Rewind to early 2024. I was finishing university, training daily, and trying to stay on top of my health. But I was constantly frustrated. Every day meant choosing between a protein shake, an energy drink, or a hydration booster. I was tired of compromising – bloated from heavy shakes, wired from artificial energy, and uninspired by repetitive, synthetic flavours.

Even after years of training and supplementing with traditional protein powders, I still hadn't found the one. I tried Clear Whey – but no matter the flavour, that distinct milky aftertaste of hydrolyzed whey isolate lingered. It just didn’t sit right.

What I wanted didn’t exist:
A drink that was light, refreshing, sparkling – but still packed with real nutrition and performance benefits. Something that didn’t make me choose between taste and function.

So, I got to work. Relentlessly researching, testing, and dreaming. I pitched the idea to a development team who warned us it would be nearly impossible – “You’ll never get more than 10-15g of protein into a carbonated drink.”

But impossible isn’t in our vocabulary.

Inspired by the name ZELUS, we stayed ambitious. We spent months in the lab, experimenting with protein sources, ingredient combinations, and natural formulations. We weren’t chasing shortcuts or artificial hits – we were chasing a better way.

And we found it.
